The original design called for a DN50 pipeline equipped with a local pressure gauge, a flow-limiting orifice plate, and another local pressure gauge in sequence. Is this a reasonable arrangement? Is it more appropriate to use a self-acting pressure control valve to achieve a pressure drop? I’m familiar with control valves, but not much about orifice plates. If your pipeline diameter is 50, the cost of the control valve should not be too high – it won’t exceed 8,000
It is more reasonable to use multi-stage current-limiting control boards. The reason is that the pressure difference before and after is relatively large; if a self-acting valve is used, its opening degree may be small, which can easily lead to cavitation.
