I need to construct a steel platform measuring 11M*6M, with a height of 2M and a maximum load capacity of 30T. How should it be designed? What type of steel should be used? I would appreciate any guidance or simple calculation methods available
The load isn’t too large; it’s H-shaped steel columns, and calculations are needed. The components themselves shouldn’t be very large either. I have a question: does seismic resistance need to be taken into account for such a structure?
Seismic resistance does not require calculations; only load calculations are needed, with no other factors to consider
This needs to be calculated; compressive stress and stability, bending stress, beam deflection, shear stress, and so on must all be taken into account! I recommend checking out the sections on beams in books such as Fundamentals of Chemical Equipment Machinery or Fundamentals of Mechanical Manufacturing!
For a structure like a steel platform, how is it possible to calculate the bending moments, torques, and other loads it can withstand? Is it calculated based on the bending moments and torques that a single beam would experience? I would appreciate some guidance from those who know more about this
In general, for steel structures, it is necessary to prevent individual components from experiencing torque; the calculations related to this are quite complex, and overall analysis is required
