In front of the station boiler, if the direction of the boiler drum is from front to back, it is called a vertical arrangement; otherwise, it is called a horizontal arrangement.

It refers to the installation direction of the boiler drum; when it is installed along the length direction, that is, in the direction of coal feeding, it is called vertical installation, while the opposite case is known as horizontal installation
It is in relation to the furnace chamber: when the chamber is placed horizontally, it is considered a horizontal furnace; when it is placed vertically, it is a vertical furnace. Generally, industrial boilers that are horizontal are of the fire-tube type, while those that are vertical are of the water-tube type (relatively speaking)

I have a question: do any experts know which is better, having the boiler drum placed vertically or horizontally, or what are the advantages and disadvantages of each design approach?
