Dear colleagues from design firms, I have recently been working on preparing heat exchanger drawings and calculation documents for a manufacturing plant. The client provides the standard models of the heat exchangers along with relevant pressure and temperature parameters; I am then responsible for carrying out strength calculations and producing the complete set of drawings, including the design seal. How should I charge for such work? Those who are familiar with the market rates, please share your insights~~~~
As a design fee, 5%-10% of the equipment cost is generally charged.
Is it really that high? Some devices are very valuable; is the design fee therefore also that high? One more thing: I perform strength calculations and prepare drawings for standard-model heat exchangers; this can probably be considered just a part of the design process (since the standard model is already available). What is the charging structure in such cases?
5000 to 8000, that should be about right. It depends on the complexity of the equipment; more complex devices incur a higher fee.
If only the intensity calculation is done, then a fee for stamping the container is charged, usually around 3,000 yuan per piece of equipment.
All those large-scale equipment mentioned upstairs, right? Haha, I’m a designer at a manufacturing factory, and our company also provides design drawings for external clients. But they are all for some small devices, so the design cost per unit is not that high.
It depends on the size of the device and the level of difficulty; you can calculate it based on your workload and the cost of the stamping design
