Especially for test cables, can connections be made without using a junction box?
In accordance with AQ 3009-2007 Code for Electrical Safety and Explosion Protection in Hazardous Areas, clause 6.1.1.1.10 states that cables used in hazardous areas must not have intermediate joints; when this cannot be avoided, the connections shall, in addition to being suitable for the mechanical, electrical, and environmental conditions, be made: 1. within enclosures of an explosion-proof type appropriate for the area; Or 2: The configured connection cannot withstand mechanical stress; it should be sealed using epoxy resin, composite materials, or heat-shrink tubing, as specified by the manufacturer. Except for intrinsically safe cables, this method is not applicable for use in Zone 1.

The capacitance and impedance of intrinsically safe cables are both lower than those of ordinary cables. In addition, intrinsically safe cables should have interference resistance, anti-static properties, and explosion protection, with a blue cable jacket.
