The BGL furnace is a liquid slag-discharge version of the solid slag-discharge Ruhr process furnace; the concentration of phenol and ammonia in the wastewater is similar to that in the Ruhr process furnace, and the treatment technology is already well-established. The BGL furnace also belongs to the category of clean coal gasification technologies – there are no restrictions, as long as the environmental impact assessment is approved
