For volume flowmeters of the type mentioned above, if a straight pipe section is required, what are the requirements regarding the location for temperature and pressure compensation? Are there any guidelines? Thermometers generally affect the straight pipe section, right?
I’ve heard before that it follows the order of flow meters, pressure gauges, and thermometers. What 3.5D, 7D. I also noticed that some samples specify a requirement of within 20D after 2D. I was wondering if any of the experts are aware of any regulatory requirements regarding this, or any formally published papers on it? There are quite a lot of people; give it a push
Instruments for pressure and temperature compensation must be installed downstream of it, at a distance from the flow meter of: pressure ≥ 4D, temperature ≥ 6D
Which type of flow meter is the mention above referring to? Is there a source? It’s still the experience from previous projects.
It must be a differential pressure type; generally, keeping this distance will not cause too many problems.
With so many different versions, it’s still necessary to find the source. There are also those that say pressure is 3.5D and temperature is 7D. Thank you!
The required straight pipe sections for differential pressure and vortex flow meters are 10D in front and 5D behind; if a valve is installed in front of the flow meter, the distance should be 20D. The thermometer can be installed 1 meter behind the flow meter. I have never used ultrasound.
Let’s calculate it again. Where is the evidence? If it’s 1 meter as you say, then wouldn’t the ultrasonic flow meter installed on the natural gas main pipeline (with a diameter of 1.5M) have a 1D rating or less?
