Regarding equipment reinforcement

This post was last edited by ztr1118 on 2012-5-9 at 21:05. Our factory has newly installed a flue gas desulfurization absorber tower with a diameter of 9.5 meters and a height of 35 meters. The flue gas inlet is located 5 meters at the bottom of the tower, and the flue is 3 meters high and 2.8 meters wide. Is reinforcement needed at the inlet of the tower? If necessary, how should it be strengthened?
Such a large diameter! I’ve never worked with something this big before; whether it’s necessary depends on the calculations. It’s hard to say without calculating
Let’s do the calculations according to ASME standards; for an opening of this size, GB150 standards are not applicable. Even for a tower operating at atmospheric pressure, reinforcement is necessary, and the reinforcing plates together with the stirrups also serve a fixing function
If there is no pressure, no reinforcement is needed; judging from the owner’s situation, just tightening a few wires to reinforce it will suffice.
