What is the procedure for starting a centrifugal pump? And how can one tell the outlet and inlet of a centrifugal pump?
The inlet of a typical centrifugal pump is larger than the outlet
Is the side with the pressure gauge the outlet? Is the side with the filter the entrance?
The centrifugal pump has a filter at the inlet and a pressure gauge at the outlet. Here, the inlet pipe is thicker than the outlet pipe. For a normal centrifugal pump, it can be started after the inspection is complete with the outlet closed; however, a high-pressure centrifugal pump requires a certain degree of opening, or a minimum amount of backflow, before it can be started.
1. Imports are 2 more than exports. 2. The side with the pressure gauge is the outlet, and the side with the filter is the inlet. 3. The side with the check valve is the outlet
1. Open the outlet valve. 2. Fill. 3. Pump. 4. Start the motor. 5. Open the outlet valve (wait until pressure reaches the outlet level). It is recommended to use a system with low pressure for these steps. The outlet pressure is greater than the inlet pressure
It is best to install a pressure gauge on both the inlet and outlet
