I would like to ask fellow sailors: are there any differences between the scale inhibitors used in wax oil hydrogenation units and those used in residue oil hydrogenation units? In other words, are there differences in the performance requirements for scale inhibitors?
Paraffin oil hydrogenation scale inhibitor is used to prevent the deposition of impurities and scaling inside pipelines; it is added at the inlet of the feed pump to stop the accumulation of coking particles in the paraffin oil. The scale inhibitor used in the residue hydrogenation unit is a composite additive developed based on the scaling mechanism of the feed oil used in residue hydrogenation. It can effectively suppress scaling resulting from free-radical polymerization induced by S, N, and O elements in the raw materials, as well as catalytic polymerization caused by metal ions such as Fe and Cu. It protects metal surfaces by eliminating their catalytic effect on polymerization and their adhesion to polymers, while also enhancing the corrosion resistance of these metal surfaces. It has a good dispersing effect on the gums, asphaltenes, and insoluble suspended particles present in the raw materials, preventing their aggregation and deposition
