Does PSA have a system for automatically switching towers? ? What conditions need to be met for automatic tower switching to be relatively safe? ? Thank you
PSAs are equipped with an automatic tower switching program; generally, the automatic tower switching action is initiated only when both abnormal tower pressure and faults in the programmable valve signals occur simultaneously.
Has your company encountered such a situation? Can a fault be detected if the spool of that program valve comes loose?
It’s definitely impossible to detect a detached valve core; in such cases, only abnormal pressure inside the tower will be observed, with a noticeable difference in the operation curve.

Hello, traditional PSA systems have many failure points due to the large number of programmable valves; therefore, when problems occur, it is necessary to switch to another tower for operation. Our company currently deals with XEBEC, a Canadian PSA brand, whose system uses a rotary valve in place of all the traditional programmable valves. This results in fewer failure points, and there are protective measures in place at the inlet side. In over a thousand installations worldwide, no tower failures have been recorded

It is not possible to detect the condition for automatic tower switching; if the inlet and outlet valves are used, it will cause pressure buildup in the system, simultaneously leading to a disruption in the synthesis gas flow in the subsequent stages
