We have a piece of equipment at the oil depot that requires a nitrogen generator, an air compressor, and a nitrogen storage tank. What the oil depot is worried about now is whether this equipment and the nitrogen gas storage tanks should be placed outside the oil barrier or directly outside the tank area. I hope everyone can offer some guidance; it would be great to have relevant standards so that we can communicate with the oil depot. The nitrogen generator operates at 240V, the air compressor has a power of 7.5 Kw, with a maximum pressure of 0.8 MPa; the air storage tank has a capacity of 0.3 cubic meters. It is inconvenient to carry out work if the equipment is placed too far away; therefore, it is still preferable to install it outside the oil barrier, trying not to move it outside the tank area. I hope everyone can offer some guidance.
Under normal circumstances, the nitrogen generator is placed in a non-explosion-proof area, with pipes connecting it to the usage points in the oil depot.

It seems the equipment is some kind of adsorption nitrogen generator. It is required that all associated power systems be of explosion-proof grade. The footprint won’t be very large; one pipe is enough to get it in place. Calculating it, it doesn’t necessarily result in any savings. For reference.
Air compressors are non-explosion-proof motors, and there are fire separation requirements from oil tanks. It has nothing to do with whether it’s inside or outside the fire dike. The specific spacing depends on the medium stored in the tank and its capacity; refer to GB50184 for details. But it’s usually outside the flood barrier
