As the title suggests, many heat exchangers and vessel inlets/outlets in hydrogenation units lack valves and are instead welded together. The new unit is undergoing commissioning purging – how should this situation be handled? Should the flange be removed for purging?
It can be purged directly; one can find a flange at the back to open and allow the gas to be released. Of course, if the pipeline is too long, it is recommended to use explosive purging
Divide the entire device into sections and use blasting to remove the material
Use segmented blasting for purging; it’s the only option
