This post was last edited by liaifeng on 2018-7-28 at 10:25. I would like to ask the experts here: do you have any empirical values regarding the SO3 content in the exhaust gas exiting the sulfur recovery flue gas incinerator? During normal operation, there is no need to measure the level of SO3.
The purpose of the incinerator is to convert hydrogen sulfide and sulfur into SO2; SO3 is not taken into account in the simulation calculations, as its amount is negligible.
Under normal conditions, the operating temperature of the incinerator is relatively low, so there should be no SO3. If there is a problem with the CLAUS unit, trace amounts of SO3 may be generated.
