Progress Report on Special Research on Sulfur Recovery from Coal-Fired Flue Gas / Author/Source: China Chemical Industry News / Date: 2019-02-18 / Clicks: 62. An annual progress meeting was recently held in Beijing for the special project under the key research and development program on clean and efficient utilization of coal and new energy-saving technologies, which is undertaken by Shenhua Group Co., Ltd. (now **Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd.**) – namely, the technology for sulfur recovery and resource utilization from coal-fired flue gas. Zhao Jian, the project leader, introduced the interim progress of the project as well as the problems encountered in its implementation. This project involves numerous aspects, a long production process, and high levels of complexity; therefore, relevant technical research for the 600MW demonstration project must be carried out on the basis of thorough research conducted in the 25MW pilot scale. The experts present had thorough discussions with the project team. In light of the fact that the design for the pilot-scale testing facility has not yet been completed and that the actual progress is lagging, they urged the project team to focus on researching fluidized bed adsorption and desorption technologies, so as to promptly finalize the preliminary technical preparations for the construction of the 25MW pilot facility and provide technical support for the industrial demonstration project.
