Is pre-sulfidation used only in the exhaust gas hydrogenation reactor? Is it necessary to use it in the first and second stages of sulfur production?

The exhaust gas hydrogenation reactor may require presulfurization, depending mainly on the state of the active components in the catalyst; hydrogenation catalysts in their oxidized state need to be presulfurized before operation. The first and second stage reactors are used for the Claus reaction, and pre-sulfurization is not required
Pre-sulfiding applies only to hydrogenation catalysts; it converts the catalyst in its oxidized state into a sulfided state that possesses reactive properties
The catalysts in the hydrogenation reactor and the sulfur converter are different. The main components of hydrogenation catalysts are cobalt oxide and molybdenum trioxide. Presulfurization is the process of converting an oxidation state with low reactivity into a sulfidation state with high reactivity.

The hydrogenation reactor requires presulfurization during its first start-up; thereafter, if passivation is not carried out, presulfurization is not necessary again. However, if passivation has been applied, presulfurization is required before starting up. Pre-vulcanization is not necessary for the first two stages
Domestic ones will do. The models are different. The warming trends and times are different. It depends on the technical documentation provided by the manufacturer.
Now, hydrogenation catalysts no longer require pre-sulfurization. Our company has developed pre-sulfurized hydrogenation catalysts that have been used in various applications; they can be put into use straight away, thereby reducing issues such as emissions during the sulfurization process.
