Besides adsorbing impurities, does the lean liquid activated carbon filter also have the function of removing heat and stabilizing salts?
No, it can adsorb hydrocarbon impurities. To remove heat and stabilize salts online, anionic resins or electrodialysis are required, and both of these methods involve regeneration
This activated carbon cannot fulfill this function; it can only remove some impurities. The issue of thermally stable salts can be addressed through resins and electrodialysis. If the amount is small, acidic water can be supplied externally, along with a small amount of deoxygenated water to serve as a buffer
I also have some questions regarding this activated carbon. Currently, Dowamine solution is used for treating sulfur-containing exhaust gases; once the use of activated carbon filtration is stopped, the sulfur dioxide levels in the exhaust gases increase. However, these levels drop again shortly after the activated carbon is put into use. What exactly is wrong with this Dowamine solution? Previously, it was fine not to use an activated carbon filter at all.
Activated carbon adsorption is a form of physical adsorption; it can only adsorb molecules, not ions.
