How to mark the upper and lower limits of the oil level in the on-site oil cup?

For on-site lubrication management, the oil cups need to have upper and lower limit markers; we used colored tape for this purpose, but once oil was present, the tape would fall off quickly； Later, it was changed to using colored rubber bands for securing them, but some circular oil cups couldn’t be used. I would like to ask fellow sailors: how does your unit handle this? Seeking advice!
The oil level in the oil cup should be marked at the time of manufacturing
