It is said that due to the carcinogenic nature of asbestos materials, and also because there are many new types of gaskets with superior performance, asbestos gaskets are rarely used these days. I recently saw recommendations again for using asbestos gaskets in design work, and I was wondering: how many places are there where asbestos gaskets are still necessary?
