Design of hose exchange stations for large-scale chemical storage tank areas

At present, I am working on a project that involves a chemical storage tank area. Since I have not worked on hose exchange stations before, I would like to learn about them*. I found a document online that describes the installation of separate hose exchange stations outside each storage tank area, with a central exchange station located between the tank area exchange stations and the dock. Each tank farm exchange station is connected to the main exchange station by 1 pipeline and to the dock by 2 pipelines, which is a more cost-effective approach. Does this approach require that, every time the material is changed, all the material from the dock to each tank farm transfer station be completely cleaned? So does the main exchange station also need a transmitter? The owner believes that it is only necessary to transport materials from the dock to the main exchange station. If we follow the owner’s approach, then wouldn’t it mean that for each type of material that goes into the tank, a separate pipeline would be required? Wouldn’t this result in excessive costs for the ductwork and pipelines? Are there any books and materials on this topic available for reference?
