The pressure in the tank trucks arriving is relatively low. When the pipeline is connected to the tank truck and the valve is opened, will the liquid inside the pipeline vaporize? Will this affect the measurement performed by the quantitative loading system?
If the flow meter is installed quite close to the filling port, and the valve is opened wide from the start, the situation you described will occur for a short time, but overall it won’t have a significant impact on measurement
It depends on what kind of flow meter you have – the E+H model is good, but it’s expensive. Is pressure application done without a compressor during unloading, or is compression used?
Loading won’t cause this issue; the problem mentioned by the original poster only occurs when the pipeline is not in use for an extended period of time and there is no gas connection line, which leads to inaccurate readings on the flow meter, regardless of the type of flow meter used. But generally, when pipes are connected to spherical tanks and the system is in a fully liquid state, a loading pump may also be required; as long as the pump does not get empty, there is no issue of gas in the flow meter causing inaccurate readings. Standard flow meters are generally not installed for unloading, so it’s not a big problem.
