Recently, the results of the annual inspections on the thermal efficiency of heating furnaces in the various enterprises under Sinopec Group for 2023 were released, with the heating furnaces in the refining and chemical sectors of Sinopec Refining ranking among the top in terms of weighted thermal efficiency. Since the beginning of this year, Sinochem Refining & Chemicals has taken various measures to reduce the energy consumption associated with plant operations, achieving good results. Zhongke Refining & Chemicals has focused on heating furnaces, which are major consumers of energy. By addressing key aspects such as reducing the exhaust gas temperature, lowering the oxygen content in the exhaust gases, and minimizing air leakage and losses due to incomplete combustion, it has implemented a series of energy-saving measures to ensure the efficient operation of these heating furnaces. The company’s Equipment Engineering Department has developed a \"one furnace, one plan\" approach to optimize the operation of the 26 heating furnaces, thereby effectively reducing fuel gas consumption. Every month, they organize specialized teams to inspect the heating furnaces in various areas, monitor their thermal efficiency, analyze trends in changes in thermal efficiency, and optimize operations based on these differences. In light of practical challenges such as the difficulty in adjusting and optimizing equipment toward the end of its operational cycle, Sinopec Refining launched a \"Red Flag Furnace\" labor competition, conducting comprehensive evaluations of the heating furnace’s performance indicators on a quarterly basis, thereby motivating employees to operate the equipment with care and to implement meticulous management practices. This year, the company saved 7.7 million yuan in costs by improving the weighted average thermal efficiency of its heating furnaces.
