According to China Petroleum Network (reporter Li Min), e-commerce procurement has given Tarim Southwest Company’s material procurement process a boost, enabling it to reduce customers’ procurement time by 7 to 20 days! On March 25, Song Yinshan, deputy manager of the Materials Supply Department at the Tarim Oil Field’s Southwest Tarim Exploration and Development Company, said cheerfully. Tasixi Company is located in a remote area, 250 kilometers away from the nearest city, Kashgar. The local social infrastructure is poor, making it very inconvenient to go out or make purchases. In 2016, this company was the first in China’s petroleum sector to trial e-commerce procurement using the JD Smart Sourcing platform. However, before purchasing goods, it was necessary to apply for a product code first, and it took anywhere from 7 to 20 days just to obtain such a code. In the second half of last year, the group company standardized the procurement codes for materials at JD.com, resolving the issues resulting from the inconsistency between the original material procurement codes used by Tasixi Company and those of JD.com. At the end of last year, Tasixi Company tested the JD HuiCai platform of PetroChina, and it was officially put into use on February 5. Today, users of this company can purchase supplies on the JD.com Smart Sourcing platform without having to apply for supply codes; they can simply select items from JD.com’s product catalog. Currently, Tasixi Company is reviewing and optimizing the usage procedures of the group company’s Jingdong HuiCai platform, based on its current usage patterns, in order to make e-commerce procurement faster.
