After a power fluctuation occurs in petrochemical pumps, will the pumps start up automatically? Which ones will and which ones won’t, and why? Why is such a setting in place?
Those with an auto-start device will start automatically, while those without it will not.
The key is to check whether interlocking is in place and whether it is in automatic mode, as well as to verify whether the backup pump’s power supply is functioning properly in case of power fluctuations
If it’s in series, it will start automatically; without series connection, it will stop! The standby pumps at the oil stations and water stations of large-scale units are all equipped with interlocks
For the oil pumps in the lubricating oil station of large-scale units, the power for the two pumps comes from two separate circuits; if one of these circuits loses power, the other oil pump will start automatically as a result of the low oil pressure. The remaining hot and cold oil pumps, as well as the air-cooling systems, will also stop operating when they cease to function
If a power fluctuation is followed by a rapid increase in load, pump units with interlocks related to low pressure and low flow rate will start automatically if their control lever is in the automatic position; other standard types of pump units will not start automatically
It mainly depends on the interlock settings – whether they are activated or not. Remember, the pump also needs to be activated.
They generally do not start automatically; only those in a cascade or backup configuration will start on their own
It is usually started in batches; the first to be activated are the oil pumps of the critical equipment. As for what else gets started, it depends on your interlock settings
The device uses two power supplies; pumps A and B are connected to different circuits. We have not installed any interlock mechanism for automatic startup, so in the event of a power fluctuation, manual intervention is required to start the backup pump
