What is this below, please? Installed on the pump’s pipeline～
It’s at the outlet of the metering pump, right? It’s generally used for buffering. The fluid delivered by the metering pump does so in a pulsating manner, with large fluctuations in the peak values of the flow rate. From what I can see, it seems to be a diaphragm-type unit; there’s also another type that uses a bladder filled with nitrogen； They all serve the same purpose: to act as a buffer and reduce the vibrations in the pipeline caused by pulsations, resulting in a smoother curve in the flow rate recordings.
Pulsation damper: A pulsation damper is a pressure vessel used to eliminate pressure fluctuations or flow rate fluctuations in liquids within pipes. It helps to stabilize fluid pressure and flow rates, reduce pipe vibrations, protect downstream instruments and equipment, and improve the volumetric efficiency of pumps.
