The belts of the Roots blower are worn at both ends; the pulley groove is 15 wide, and the belt is 16.5 wide – is that too wide? But the A shape is only 13 – isn’t that too narrow?

The width of the belt is definitely greater than that of the pulley; the groove width you can measure is 15 mm, and the pitch diameter width is 14 mm, which means a Type B belt is used as standard – such belts have a pitch diameter width of 14 mm and a top width of 17 mm. The belt is severely worn; simply replacing it will do. Checking and replacing the belt and pulleys should be basic tasks in equipment maintenance.
This belt is replaced daily; there are no issues with alignment or tightness. The flash is severe. Would it be better to use one that’s thinner than this?

Hehe, if the belt isn’t damaged, it’s probably the bearing that’s broken. This trapezoidal design is used to increase the friction area; the main contact areas are the two sides. The belt is too tight.
