This delivery marks the completion of all shipments related to the 12 jacket structures for the Qingzhou 42 offshore wind project, which were undertaken by CIMC Pacific Offshore Engineering. The last jacket structure, which is an integrated unit consisting of a wind turbine foundation developed by MingYang Smart Energy and a fish farming cage, is the world’s first such integrated device for wind energy and fish farming. It is expected to be put into use in late July at MingYang Yangzhou 4 Offshore Wind Farm, China’s first project that combines offshore wind power, marine aquaculture, and seawater hydrogen production. “The integrated equipment of \"wind turbine foundation jacket + fish cage\" uses the wind turbine jacket as its support platform. Although its height is the same as that of a conventional jacket, its weight is more than 200 tons higher. Equipped with a high-performance net system and an intelligent aquaculture system, it constitutes an intelligent integrated device that combines offshore wind power generation with deep-sea aquaculture. This approach enables more efficient and intensive utilization of marine resources, reduces the costs associated with resource exploitation, and increases the overall profitability of the project. The aquaculture water volume is approximately 5,000 cubic meters, allowing for the cultivation of around 150,000 fish. Once the equipment is in operation, high-quality fish species such as groupers will be raised there, with an annual catch expected to reach 75 tons once production begins.
