On August 18, the draft for public comments on the environmental impact assessment of Haijin’s project to produce 100,000 tons of green bio-methanol per year was made public. Project Overview: Project Name: Haijin 100,000-ton Annual Production Green Bio-methanol Project. Location: Circular Economy Demonstration Park, Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone, Gansu Province. Production Capacity: 100,000 tons of green bio-methanol per year. Scope of Construction: It mainly includes raw material storage and transportation, conversion of biomass into biochar, gasification, purification and desulfurization, methanol synthesis and refining, as well as utility systems. On May 21, China National Chemical Fourth Construction Corporation and Haijin (Zhangye) Biofuel Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the PC general contract of the 100,000 tons per year green bio-methanol project at the Yueyang facility. The 100,000-ton per year green bio-methanol production project developed by Haijin is funded and constructed by Haijin (Zhangye) Biofuel Co., Ltd. This project has been included in the third batch of projects under Gansu Province’s 14th Five-Year Plan. It is the first large-scale bio-liquid fuel project of 100,000 tons per year in the world that uses cow dung as its main raw material. Upon successful implementation, this project will help China take the lead in biofuel technology globally, serving as a powerful example and catalyst for further development in this field.
