On March 17, the groundbreaking ceremony for the EPC general contracting project of JiuXin Chemical’s third dry quenching unit was held in a grand manner, marking another key step forward for the company in its pursuit of green development and the stabilization of coal chemical production processes. The opening ceremony was presided over by An Xiaobing, General Manager of JiuXin Chemical Company. Attendees included Liu Xiaowei, Deputy Manager of the Production and Technology Department at China Coal Shanxi Company, members of the company’s leadership team, leaders from Jigang Group International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., the EPC contractor, as well as leaders from Wuyi Group Shanghai Engineering General Contracting Company, the construction unit, along with representatives from supervision agencies, HSE departments, and quality inspection stations involved in the project. The core of this project is the construction of a 140t/h dry quenching facility; the total construction period is 12 months, with completion and readiness for the production of red coke targeted for March 2027. Upon completion, the project will significantly improve the efficiency of waste heat recovery and reduce pollutant emissions, helping the company to become an A-grade coking enterprise. At the ceremony, Li Wuku, the Party committee secretary, delivered a speech on behalf of the company. He noted that this project is a key initiative for the company to overcome challenges related to safe production and improve energy utilization efficiency; once operational, it will enable a fully dry quenching system, thereby contributing to green and low-carbon development. At the same time, four requirements were put forward to the participating units: adhering to safety standards, maintaining strict quality control, meeting schedule targets, and enhancing coordination among all parties. It was stated that the company’s Party committee would assume its primary responsibilities to ensure that the project is completed on time and to a high standard. Wang Mingnan, speaking as the representative of the general contractor, said that Jigang International will adhere to the principles of prioritizing quality, fulfilling obligations efficiently, leading with technology, and working together as a team. It will assign a highly skilled team to ensure that red coke is produced within the established timeline, while also leveraging its technical advantages in the field of dry quenching of coke to deepen cooperation with all parties involved. Duan Fenghua, on behalf of the general contractor, expressed that Wuyi Group would fulfill its responsibilities as a central state-owned enterprise and carry out the construction tasks with high quality, ensuring that the project is put into operation as soon as possible. Chairman Shen Yantao solemnly announced the start of the project; cannons were fired on site and the construction machinery was started, marking the successful conclusion of the commencement ceremony.
