Recommendation Letter: I, ZLT, am an employee in the Product Development Department of the head office. On February 19, 2011, I was sent by the company to work in Syria. Due to the unstable situation in Syria, which posed a serious threat to personal safety, and in accordance with a notice from the Chinese Embassy in Syria, I returned to China on May 10, 2011. Based on my experience working in Syria this time, I would like to put forward the following suggestions for the consideration of our leaders. It is recommended that when signing foreign-related contracts in the future, the following contract clauses be added: 1. Personnel should only be sent to that country to carry out relevant work when the social situation there is favorable and stable, and the personal safety of Chinese engineers while working there must be ensured. In the event of sudden major social unrest, unconditional assistance should be provided to Chinese engineers to return to their home country as soon as possible, without any objections or intentional delays ； 2. Internet or mobile data cards must be provided for Chinese engineers, so that they can stay informed about the domestic situation and developments in the country they are in, and can also maintain timely communication with the Chinese embassy there as well as domestic companies regarding work and other matters ； 3. Provide Chinese engineers with at least one local mobile phone number, covering the related costs, to facilitate communication between them and the Chinese embassy in that country as well as relevant parties back in China ； 4. Before Chinese engineers arrive in the country, it is necessary to arrange for translators to be hired, and ensure that they are available to assist the Chinese engineers throughout their stay there, until they leave ； It is recommended that our company’s engineers, upon arriving in that country, register the following information with the Chinese embassy there as soon as possible, for future use: 1. My passport number ； 2. My contact information in that country, including address (state/province, city, district, street and house number), mobile phone number, landline number, email address, MSN or QQ account number ； Note: In the event of major social unrest, countries **will first cut off communications such as mobile phones and the internet; therefore, the registered permanent address must be accurate and true. 3. Name and address of the foreign company being visited, as well as contact information for the person in charge of that company (at least two) ； 4. Contact information for the department managers or section heads of our company, with no fewer than two persons. It is also recommended that our employees going abroad master basic everyday English expressions, so as to facilitate communication with foreign customs and **(including the armed forces and police) in special situations.
