I’m looking to buy a portable gas flow meter with a range of 0–6 m3/H. Does anyone know one? Please recommend one; it’s better if it can be connected using hoses, and the pressure requirement isn’t high
Portable ones I’ve seen only use ultrasound and cannot measure gases. I’m not aware of the other aspects; the key question is: how can you ensure a straight section of pipe when using a hose? Also, isn’t it necessary to create another opening during the measurement? Will the process conditions allow that? Those who have used it downstairs can come and provide answers
I didn’t explain it clearly: what’s needed is to measure the pressure drop of each pipe. A stable flow rate is required; once the flow rate is stabilized using a flow meter, the pressure drop of each pipe can then be measured!
What is the typical pressure rating of portable rotameters? Could the pressure resulting from gas from a cylinder passing through a pressure regulator exceed the limit?
It depends on the selection of your rotameter; generally, standard glass rotameters can handle 6–7 bar without any problem, as is the case with Krone models
