How to select a current transformer

Dear experts, the current indicator on the operation panel at the location where the motor is installed does not match the reading on the ammeter inside the control cabinet. The motor is located more than 500 meters away from the distribution room; the ammeter at the motor side shows 24A, while the one in the cabinet shows 57A. I hope you can help me understand why this is happening How to choose a transformer
Your problem may be caused by a mismatch between the current transformer and the ammeter. If the ammeter has a maximum range of 100A, the current transformer must be selected as 100/5A. Displaying is the correct approach.
Based on rough calculations, the transformation ratio you’re using now is 8.4, which isn’t correct. Where is your transformer installed?
This post was last edited by zgy283793848 on 2015-6-15 16:21. Is your transformer installed inside the cabinet? Have you considered the power consumption associated with such long cables? Try using an ammeter with a digital display!
