What is the function of a hydrophobic control valve? What is the difference in its function compared to ordinary steam traps? I’ve never understood how a control valve can have a steam-trap function. (It seems that it was originally a hydrophobic stop valve; later, due to certain control requirements, a hydrophobic control valve was developed.) I feel a bit dizzy; I hope someone knowledgeable can help me understand
The process I have seen for controlling condensate drainage using a control valve is: steam — reboiler (heater) — condensate tank — control valve (condensate tank level control valve).
Right, this valve doesn’t function in the same way as a regular steam trap, does it? The opening and closing of this valve are not automatic; rather, they are controlled by the system. It simply serves to facilitate drainage in the piping system, right?
It seems that the opening degree of the control valve is adjusted based on the amount of condensate, in order to maintain a stable level of condensate. In that case, it’s basically no different from an ordinary control valve, right?
With such a heater control system, by regulating the liquid level of the heater, the heating area of the steam can be controlled, thereby achieving control over the heating effect
Is this used in the steam system, or together with the heat exchanger? !
It should be a combination. A single valve can’t do much, unless it’s a multi-functional one
It’s a heat exchanger, but it also handles two-phase flow, right?
The drainage of control valves requires human intervention or control by a control system, whereas steam traps achieve drainage automatically. Should it be like this, right?
In thermal power plants, both the high-pressure and low-pressure feedwater heaters use steam trap control valves.
