It’s best to have at least 2 of each type of valve component; it’s rare for more than 3 of them to fail at once. The replaced valves should be repaired and kept for future use. One set of packing is also necessary; although it doesn’t break easily, without the right spare parts it cannot be repaired. Additionally, at least one set each of packing and oil rings is needed, along with at least one set each of piston rings and support rings. The main bearings and thrust bearings are also essential components that must be stocked. Other important components include the cylinder, piston rod, piston, crosshead, and connecting rods. If funds permit, it’s advisable to stock these as well. These components generally don’t break, but if they do, they cannot be repaired. In short, aside from the crankshaft, try to stock up on as many components as possible

Piston rods can be stocked depending on the situation; that is, if you have sufficient funds, you can stock piston rods, while if funds are limited, stocking them can be postponed. It is recommended that you purchase the aforementioned spare parts together with the compressor when buying it, as this will help you save some costs.
