The unit has a 14-inch submersible sewage pump; the volute is cracked, and part of the outlet section along with part of the volute has fallen off. Because it has been purchased for several years, the manufacturer can no longer supply the volute, while all other parts of the pump are in good condition. Can it be repaired using welding? The volute material is cast iron. Previously, I encountered a situation where the corners at the base of a centrifugal pump were broken during loading and unloading; after grinding them, they were welded back together. But the shape of the volute is a bit more complex, and the volute is also subjected to pressure when the pump is in operation; I’m not sure whether it’s possible to repair it using welding Are there any other methods?
