Slurry can be used; just open the outlet backflow valve to allow the slurry to flow out
Just start the pump in accordance with the centrifugal pump operating procedures

For the centrifugal pump, simply fill it with coal slurry, start the outlet drain and vent system; once coal slurry begins to flow out, just follow the startup procedures for the centrifugal pump
Personally, I think it’s better to fill the pump with clean water first; using coal slurry directly is not advisable because of its high viscosity and high solid content, which can result in an excessive starting current for the centrifugal pump, triggering the soft start current protection and causing a shutdown. After the pump trips, it takes time to contact an electrician, and during that time the slurry inside the pump may settle and separate, making it even more difficult to start the centrifugal pump. Over time, the pump could end up being completely clogged.
The slurry circulation system mentioned refers to a pump designed to be used between the large tanks; indeed, such a design existed for transferring slurry between those tanks, but it is no longer used in modern designs. As for the operation of this pump, it is started by filling it with coal slurry, just like a centrifugal low-pressure coal slurry pump; there is no risk of overflow, so there’s no need to worry about that. The motor power of this type of pump is generally within 30KW, so there is no major issue.
