The installation of tower cranes is not a simple task; it involves many steps and requires coordination across various aspects. Today, I will discuss with you the issue of tensioning temporary wind ropes during the installation of tower cranes. One of the steps in the installation of a tower crane is the installation of the tower structure; this is achieved by lifting standard sections one after another, thereby gradually assembling the tower and increasing its height. During the interval while repeating the installation of standard sections, to maintain the stability and safety of the already assembled tower section, it is necessary for the construction party to properly tension the temporary wind ropes. Basically, when the tower section of the tower crane has reached a height of around 50 meters, the installation of standard sections should be paused, and temporary wind ropes should be tensioned to secure the tower. The optimal number of temporary wind ropes is usually 6, and the tension of each rope should be determined based on the horizontal and vertical accuracy of the tower structure of the tower crane (which can be measured using a theodolite and must remain within the specified error range). Temporary guy wires are mostly of the steel strand type; they can be connected to the tower structure of a tower crane via an upper anchor, and to the ground anchor device via a ground anchor connector. A hydraulic cylinder is installed inside the ground anchor connector, and this cylinder can be controlled via a pump station, thereby enabling the tensioning or loosening of the temporary cable braces made of steel strands. To better control the tension of the temporary guy wires, thereby ensuring that the horizontal and vertical alignment of the tower structure of the tower crane meets the required standards and that the forces acting on the tower structure are in balance, a corresponding pressure gauge is usually installed on the hydraulic cylinder within the anchor device to enable precise control.
