Dear friends, soft water needs to be used in the hydrogenation process – are there any specific requirements regarding the quality of this soft water? These days, many soft water treatment systems use RO technology, followed by mixed-bed resins (cation and anion resins). However, these resins need to be regenerated, and the use of acids and alkalis to clean them pollutes the environment and is a hassle. My question is: can the water produced by the RO process be used directly? Thank you all
I’m telling you clearly: water that has only been treated with RO is not up to the requirements for use in hydrogen injection, as its conductivity will definitely be unsatisfactory. Even after passing through the yin-yang bed, it is best to go through deoxidation if possible.
Conductivity ≤10μS/cm, chloride ions ≤0.2ppm
Isn’t there EDI after RO? Check it out; it’s better than anion and cation resins.
We use deionized water, with the chloride content being controlled at ≤0.2 ppm, as chloride ions have an impact on austenitic stainless steel
Requirements for the water quality used in reactive injection: 1. Solid content less than 25PPM; 2. Chloride ion content less than 5PPM; 3. Oxygen content less than 50PPB; 4. Ammonia content less than 100PPM; 5. Hydrogen sulfide content less than 100PPM; 6. pH value: 6-9
