In recent years, terminators used for polymerization have evolved from being single-component to multi-component types; composite terminators and highly efficient composite terminators are now used by most manufacturers. What are the components of these terminators?
Substances with the following structure or those that can form such a structure can be used as terminators: quinones, nitro groups, nitroso groups, aryl polyhydroxyl compounds, and many sulfur-containing compounds.
Different varieties have different compositions, with the main functions being to terminate reactions and improve thermal stability.
