What should be considered when installing a vortex flowmeter?
Avoid areas with severe vibrations; ensure there is sufficient straight pipe length to minimize interference. I’m not sure what medium you are measuring with; I wouldn’t recommend using a slot meter, as its maintenance is too complicated. A balanced flow meter would be a better option
1. Select the installation location and environment appropriately. Stay away from high-power equipment, high-frequency equipment, and high-voltage switching equipment ; Avoid exposure to high-temperature heat sources and radiation sources, as well as locations with severe vibrations and highly corrosive environments; meanwhile, ease of installation and maintenance should also be taken into consideration. 2. There must be sufficient straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flow meter. Requirements for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flow meter: If there are two 90° elbows on the same plane upstream of the sensor installation point, then the upstream straight pipe section should be ≥25D, and the downstream straight pipe section should be ≥5D. If there are two 90° elbows on different planes upstream of the sensor installation point, then: the upstream straight pipe section must be ≥ 40D, and the downstream straight pipe section must be ≥ 5D. The control valve should be installed at a distance of 5D downstream of the sensor; if it must be installed upstream of the sensor, the straight pipe section upstream of the sensor should be at least 50D long, and the section downstream should be at least 5D long. …… 3. The piping upstream and downstream of the installation point should be concentric with the sensor, and the coaxial deviation should not be less than 0.5DN.
