The regulations state that in cases where it is not possible to calculate the safe discharge volume, the discharge capacity of safety valves, or the discharge area of rupture discs, the design entity shall consult with the entity that commissioned the design or the user to select an overpressure relief device. Isn’t it sufficient to negotiate with the client? Should the safety valve ports and rupture ports shown on the overall diagram be labeled as spare ports, or as safety valve ports and rupture ports?
