Everyone, our company uses nickel catalysts, which first need to be added to a grinding tank for fine grinding before being put into the reactor. The operation involves using an electric hoist to lift the catalyst in buckets to the 3rd floor, and then adding it to the grinding tank. Our company is now considering transferring the nickel catalyst (in granular form, containing a lot of powder) from the iron barrels to the grinding tank on the 3rd floor. The vacuum suction equipment from one supplier was taken into consideration (as shown in the figure below). However, when sucking, a large amount of air along with the catalyst is drawn in, and this nickel catalyst powder can catch fire spontaneously when exposed to air at high temperatures, posing a certain risk. Does anyone have any better methods or suggestions for safely and quickly transferring the catalyst from the tank on the 1st floor to the grinding tank on the 3rd floor? Thank you so much! :)

Closed transportation under nitrogen protection is used; the material pipelines are grounded to dissipate static electricity during transportation. Nitrogen is used as the carrier, and a nickel catalyst is also employed. With inert gases filling the pipelines, the level of risk is reduced. Pneumatic conveying is used with a nitrogen gas source; many catalysts are transported in this way. This approach can also be applied in reforming and other processes, offering many possibilities for adoption
Why use pneumatic conveying? It’s troublesome and costly; just use a hermetic conveyor like the Jiaolong instead; Moreover, this nickel catalyst will naturally react with oxygen at room temperature, right? No high temperature is needed.
