An experiment on the solubility of hydrogen sulfide is needed; it’s a laboratory experiment in which only small amounts of hydrogen sulfide are used. However, during certain procedures, hydrogen sulfide may leak into the air. Given the high corrosivity and toxicity of hydrogen sulfide, strict requirements are placed on valves and pipelines. I’ve looked up some information online, and it seems that 316 stainless steel is commonly used for this purpose, but C276 is also employed in pipeline desulfurization. I’ve also seen that AISI318 is a grade suitable for use with hydrogen sulfide. Are there any good methods for preventing corrosion at the connections between valves and pipelines?
