Carbon steel: refers to steel with a carbon content of less than 1.7%, along with small amounts of elements such as manganese, phosphorus, and silicon; it includes high-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and low-carbon steel. Carbon black: Various gelatinous black substances that are composed entirely of or primarily of carbon. It is usually produced as soot from the partial combustion of hydrocarbon compounds. Meanwhile, “carbon black” refers to a black pigment composed of charred materials (such as charcoal). ““Carbon” is an umbrella industrial term referring to a mixture containing C, H, O, S, and N. “Carbon”-containing substances with no constant composition or properties, formed as a result of varying raw materials as well as preparation processes and conditions.
