I used to work in a caustic soda plant, where most of the control valves were connected using hoses; it was very convenient to replace or modify the quick connectors. But after leaving that company, I didn’t see any other companies using such hoses anymore – they all used stainless steel or copper pipes. In my experience, stainless steel pipes can also loosen over time, and copper pipes are even more prone to deformation. It’s quite troublesome to make changes to them each time. I’m wondering if there are any regulations or other reasons for this.

Actually, there are no special regulations; it mainly depends on the agreement between the design company and the client. After all, everyone has their own preferences, right?:) When using nylon hoses or metal hoses, the main consideration is situations where there is vibration between the equipment and the gas supply pipes.
Nylon tubes are prone to aging and damage, and they are not flame-retardant. Quick connectors are easily damaged and have a high failure rate.
