Could you please explain what the viscosity unit CST means? Some say it’s centistokes, while others say centipoise. Could experts provide a detailed explanation?
What do these letters mean? Is it supposed to be ‘li si’ or ‘li xi’?
Li Si or Li Shan is the same thing; S or St are both abbreviations for Stoke.
So, what is the relationship between viscosity grade and viscosity? When people talk about what grade of oil to use, are they referring to its viscosity grade?
cP is the unit of dynamic viscosity, while cST is the unit of kinematic viscosity~~
Kinematic viscosity ν: The ratio of a fluid’s dynamic viscosity μ to its density ρ at the same temperature is called the kinematic viscosity. It is a measure of the flow resistance of this fluid under the effect of gravity. In the International System of Units (SI), the unit of dynamic viscosity is m2/s. In the past, centistokes (cSt) were commonly used as the unit for dynamic viscosity; it is equal to 10-6 m2/s (that is, 1 cSt = 1 mm2/s).
1cSt = 1 mm2/s. Is mm millimeter?
