Dear fellow sea lovers, I have a question: for pressure vessels equipped with agitators, is the agitator removed during the hydrostatic test, or is it still installed? What regulations contain information on this topic?
Equipment with a mixing device shouldn’t be considered a pressure vessel, right?
The equipment is indeed under pressure, but the pressure is not high; it’s low pressure.
If the mixer itself can withstand pressure, then it can be left inside; there’s no need to remove it :)
It was said upstairs that equipment with a mixing device is not considered a pressure vessel, but this seems incorrect. The sleep test is generally used to examine the strength of the equipment, usually at a pressure level of about 1.1 to 1.2 times the design pressure. Since you are pressure vessels, it is only reasonable to conduct corresponding strength tests on the mechanical seals used for mixing; this should have no impact on the equipment. Therefore, I personally think there is no need to remove them.
It shouldn’t need to be taken apart, right! Is it like doing a pressure reaction? During the last inspection and pressure test of the special equipment, water was added with a mixer during the pressure testing, and no issues were detected.
A pressure vessel is called such only when it is under pressure, right? It depends on the medium inside the device or other criteria to determine whether it is a pressure vessel; if it is, then there should be an agitator as well, and tests need to be conducted to see if it can withstand pressure along with the agitation function.
The equipment is taken for a hydrostatic pressure test. Instruments such as sensors and other precision devices require cleaning and pressure testing
Before conducting a hydraulic test on the equipment, it’s not that it can remain assembled; rather, it must be disassembled.
Without having to remove the mixing device, if the tank is in use under pressure, the mixing device should be equipped with a mechanical seal or a packing seal. Just give it a try to see if the seal at the mixing device’s inlet works properly.
