Discussion on compressor vibration conditions

Our air compressor has two support shafts, with two vibration monitoring points designed on each support shaft. One of the vibration points on the high-voltage side remains very high, reaching up to 75, while the vibrations at the other three points are all between 40 and 53. The rotor was balanced previously, but the problem persisted. Has anyone else encountered this phenomenon?
First, rule out issues with the instrument. :) I don’t know about the oil quality.
First, consider the gauge issue. If the gauge is fine, could it be that the impeller is dirty? It happened to us before – things returned to normal after cleaning the impeller
Numerically, your vibration levels are somewhat high; the shaft vibration in our air compressors is generally below 15μm. There are several possible reasons for these higher vibration levels: 1. Analyze whether the oil has deteriorated; 2. Check how well the following machines are aligned ; 3. Perform dynamic balancing on the rotor ; 4. Disassemble and check whether the bearing is coked ; 5. Check if there are any issues with the installation of the instruments. For reference only: lol
I don’t know what brand of air compressor you have; check whether the oil pressure, oil temperature, and oil level are normal.

A beginner’s question: how can one determine when the quality of oil has declined?
Our impeller wear occurs under conditions of high vibration levels. At that time, the amplitude value rose rapidly.
As a supplementary note, I once encountered a situation where putting two shims under that pad at the front and back of the rotor actually resolved the issue
Whether an oil has deteriorated is primarily determined by its antioxidant properties and acid value; oils with a high acid value have poor antioxidant capacity and are prone to coking. Therefore, in addition to basic parameters such as flash point and kinematic viscosity, the acid value is very important when analyzing oils. :)
