Under what conditions do pressure vessels need to undergo a vacuuming test? Is it necessary to conduct such a test whenever there is negative pressure? What should be the appropriate duration for maintaining the vacuum state? The design drawings indicate either 1 hour or 24 hours; I’m really confused

Generally, negative-pressure containers don’t seem to have this requirement; only vacuum-insulated containers do.

In some cases, the design institute explicitly required a vacuum testing procedure; in other cases, the management ordered vacuum testing after observing a negative pressure condition. I think it’s possible to operate under negative pressure, and as long as the checks for negative pressure show no issues, there should be no need to conduct vacuum testing

I really have never seen a vacuum pumping test. Could the original poster post the drawings? Even for vacuum containers, there is no need to conduct vacuum pumping tests; firstly, the margin in the formulas used to calculate negative pressure is already quite large, and secondly, the maximum operating external pressure of ordinary vacuum containers (except in cases of actual vacuum conditions) certainly cannot reach -0.1 MPa. I’m not sure if the vacuum testing mentioned by the poster refers to a vacuum chamber test
