For a certain project involving a high-viscosity medium, twin-screw pumps and gear pumps were used; initially, check valves were installed after each pump. Now I want to remove those check valves, and the client needs to provide a reason first. How should I reply?
No way, you want to remove the check valve on your own without any reason?

If people don’t change, what are the problems? They found a passage stating that positive displacement pumps (such as reciprocating pumps) usually have built-in check valves at their inlet, so there is no need to install an additional check valve in the pipeline to prevent fluid backflow. The system specialist should check the information provided for the selected pump; if the pump manufacturer does not supply a built-in check valve, such a valve should be added. State or request that a check valve be added to the pump order form.
So did you see the note in the materials stating that a check valve is to be provided?

A check valve is definitely necessary; if a screw pump has internal leaks or similar issues, having no check valve can cause problems.
The medium has high viscosity; in the event of a shutdown, it can easily clog the check valve, preventing it from functioning properly in the future. Therefore, this option is being eliminated
